Rubber Sidewalks

Finally, after years of pounding my legs on concrete sidewalks, Charlotte appears to be headed in the direction of converting from concrete to a rubber type of sidewalk. The initial test locations are being done in two parts of the city: On the Plaza and W. 28th street.

I may drive over and test them out.

I heard on the news a while ago they cost four times as much as concrete, so don't get too used to it!

That would be just my luck. They look at putting in better softer sidewalks for running and it cost you an arm and leg (or maybe to legs) for them :)
