Davidson Turkey Trott 5k recap
Well, for the first time in 3 years, I was not freezing cold at the start of the Davidson Turkey Trott 5k. But it was wet with a little drizzle passing through. The temperature was a very comfortable 58 degrees.
I could easily run in a singlet and shorts on this day.
The course has a good fast first mile, and I was looking to take advantage of it. Mile 2, rolls a bit more, and Mile 3 has decently long climb in it.
After really good first mile, I was trying to hold me own on the rolling hills. Only one runner past me. I had settled in with these two guys, and one was upping his game on the climb towards the finish. I tried to stay with him, but I wasn't having as much luck as wanted. I could feel my legs hurting coming to the finish even thou this was only a 5k race.
I was happy that this was my fastest 5k race on this course. I ran 19:21 to finish 22nd overall and 1st in my age group. Definitely, this was a great start to an awesome Thanksgiving Day.
Their awards were these nice throw blankets. Mine will find a good some.
Now, I am on into the holidays.
Hope you holiday season is off to an awesome start.
