So hot and so humid

Yesterday, for some unknown reason, I decided to run in the late afternoon. I could feel the sun burning on my skin. Even in the shade, the feeling didn't go away.

But something made it an even worse feeling.

I tiny little shower pass through. Not enough to cool the temperature, but just enough to wet down the asphalt.

Then, the sun came back out.

Waves of steam emanated from the pavement.

In these conditions, sweat doesn't evaporate. It just beads up and drips off. Perhaps one of the worse feelings in the world for a runner. There is just no relief.

When I finished, I just stopped. With in a minute, there was a circular puddle of water around me.

That's just a typical day in the life of a runner in the south these days.
