Run the South 1/2 Marathon

 Coming back an injury is never easy. Jumping into a 1/2 marathon as a comeback race is never a good idea. Yet, I did it. 

I ran 1:35:57. I finished 24 overall and 1st in my age group.

My legs felt sluggish. All I wanted to do is slow down more. I drank at every aid station, and I took 2 GUs during the race. 

I will say that the greenway was super nice. Aside from a few spots, we spent most of the race in the shade. The few times that we stuck our heads out into the sun; I could feel the sun's rays burning on my skin. 

All in all, I like the race and course. I would consider doing it again next year.
