returning from an injury

 Injuries always leave me a little deflated. I always seem to be running well. Maybe too well. I keep pushing up to the edge, and then I fall over it. Then, I am set back weeks or months while my body works to recover. 

As the pain abates, my runs start to return to normal, but mentally, I find it challenging. Every little ache and pain have me questioning if I should be slowing down or even stopping my run. No one wants a return of the injury. I leaned on it this weekend, and throughout the entire race, I kept thinking that I was getting a little too close to the edge. I finished with no issues and have been running without any issues from it. My brain seems to have put this one behind me.
