Hip Injury
Just two days after my 1/2 marathon race, I was headed out for 10 miles. I noticed some lingering soreness in my right hip. As the miles wore on, the pain become increasingly worse. By 8 miles, I stopped.
The next day, it was all I could do to run 1 mile. It was incredibly painful. If I didn't have my streak, I wouldn't have even tried to run. The streak continues to live. After several days of ice and very reduced mileage, I could do 4 miles.
Oh, I forgot to mention that setting was a nightmare. I was constantly twisting and turning. Driving a car was worse, because the seat belt kept me tied down.
Making matters worse, I had big plans 3 weeks later, and I didn't know how my hip was going to respond. I had already dropped some cash on this trip, so I couldn't back out.
Each day was spent pushing with some hobbling tossed into to at least make me feel better about running.
