Rail Trail
In the past couple of weeks, the WWC crew has finished work on the new Rail Trail, and they officially opened it for use.
If you are familiar with the WWC trail system, the Rail Trail is located on the trails across the road from the WWC entrance. From the entrance, go through the trail head on the other side of the road, and take the Bandit Trail. On the backside of the Bandit Trail, the course markings are up leading to the Rail Trail.
This past Sunday, I took advantage of the open trails and ventured out on to the Rail Trail. The trail is about 2ish miles and goes down along the creek before heading off in a north easterly direction. Part of the first mile follows an old service road. Then, the course turns parallels along the rail road tracks back towards the creek. Then, leads back to the Bandit trail.
The trail is a really nice addition to the trails WWC, and gives us runners yet another option to get in some extra miles.
For those venturing out to the WWC, check their map. They have the Rail trail listed. There are multiple options for getting to it so make sure to take a good look at the map.
Kickin' up trail dust,
