St Patrick's 5k - Clover, SC

 The St Patrick's Days 5k in Clover race info popped into my email inbox in early March. As I read it, I thought about the last time that I had raced in Clover. Several decades have passed. I decided that it was time to return. 

This was a Friday evening race starting 6 pm. I got the race around 5pm, picked up my bib, and headed out for some warmup miles along the course. I quickly realized that the course was not going to be closed to traffic. 

The race started right on time by this guy that was dressed in an all-green suite. I did wonder where he got the suite, and also, I wondered if MC guy for the Savannah Bananas also gets his suites from the same place. 

Aside from gentle dips, Clover is pretty much flat. They did have us doing some weird stuff like running around children's splash pad. 

I had decent race with a time of 19:20. I took home a couple of gift cards and a YMCA cup. The YMCA was hosting sponsor of the race.

Friday night road races have not been on my schedule the last couple of years. I really liked doing this, so I might look to a few more this year.
