Craft 1/2 Marathon

 I signed up for the Craft 1/2 Marathon in South Charlotte several months ago. This was the same race that I did last year. The course has some road miles, ventures on the greenway, off the greenway to some neighborhood streets, and back on the greenway before heading back into a business park for the finish. 

For the most part, the course is rolling to flat with the exception of the neighborhood. This is section has couple of nice climbs. 

My legs were struggling to get started over the first three miles. But as the splits continued to pop up my Garmin, I realized that was not matching last year's effort. Hard as I tried, I just couldn't "will" my legs to run any faster. 

I finished 36th overall and won my age group, but overall, I was just disappointed in my effort. My legs just didn't want to cooperate with me. 

This happens. When it does, it is just something, I need to take in stride. Keep looking forward because the next race could well be the one.
