Clover, SC 5k Recap

 So, I am a few weeks behind in my recaps. I headed Clover, SC for a 5k the first week of Jun, and I ended up running 15:46. However, the race comes with a big "*". Someone changed part of the course, so it was not run as certified. Still, we all ran the shorten course. 

Setting aside the course, I had a good race. I finished 3rd. Clover is relatively flat, so I had no excuses. I moved into 3rd after about mile, but I never made any dents into the lead held by the top two runners.

After the race, the race director was very nice. He offered his apologies and offered a full refund. I politely declined. I have run too many trail races where distance is a guestimate, so a course being short or long is less of an importance especially when it was unintendedly. I got in a race and a shirt, so I got in what I wanted. 

Will I go back. Maybe. The registration is $20 at the moment, but that is for a race nearly a year from now. Honestly, I am sure where I will be in a year from now.
